Profile in Purple

Drawn from life, Tuesday morning.

Charcoal and pastel over Tombow marker, on paper, about 14" x 19".

  1. So you mix in marker too; I like the effect. Your "smouldering" colors are very attractive. I really like your work. It's not "pretty." It's real. It gets me every time.

  6. Strong and unique. How much (or how probably how little) time do you spend on these when drawing from life?

  7. These were probably half hour to 45 minute poses, I think. Maybe 20 minutes, because that is about how long a model can go without a break and I usually like to start a new drawing after a break.

    Plus I went home and added some stronger color than what I had with me at the drawing session, so maybe another one to five minutes.
