  1. Wonderful integration of background into the development of the image.. Like the mode created here.

  2. Lovely with just a tad of a ghostly touch. Sometimes it's harder to figure out a background treatment then it is to render the figure.

  3. The mixed media and colours are a lovely blend!

Ps I spent the whole day at the Cricket taking photos. Over 300 in fact .......luckily I do like going to sporting events. :-)

  5. Thanks, all.
It was a cold windy day and this bled into my drawing.

Helen, I wondered. Your sports paintings are wonderful--and I'm not sports crazy.

  7. Thanks, Karin.

It's one one the richest looking pastels I have.

  8. So nice; and a combination of airiness and gravitas.

  9. For me, this has an Old World feel to it. And it's a wonderful color, that lavender.

  10. Thanks, PJ. I get that, too. Feels nineteenth century, wrapped against the elements.

Maybe it's the influence of the building this was drawn in, which dates to the 1870s, just after the great Chicago fire.
