I have seen them at the Jack Rutberg Gallery and his stlye and touch come to mind when looking at this. I'm glad you got a chance to watch one of the videos of the interview with him that I posted. What I was going to reply to your first comment is that I think your attraction/distraction is perceptive. This model struck me as painfully thin, and I was distressed as I was drawing.

Katherine, thanks. The rhythm of the page is my favorite part of this. It is her reflection in the mirror that she was leaning against. I felt, for the first time in a while, a very strong desire to be painting this (and frustrated because I didn't have paints with me).

Thanks, Virginia. I think you are also perceptive. This was the model's first time posing and at times she was nodding off. She was definitely reflective.

AH, as for unsettled, that feels like the essence of this drawing to me.

Thank you, Annie. I think light was so important because I'm feeling a strong urge to be painting.Jean Spitzerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13520415864511680025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5596223475426533484.post-36891981048327061342009-10-08T13:46:57.174-05:002009-10-08T13:46:57.174-05:00Based on which monitor I use to ck this woman out,...Based on which monitor I use to ck this woman out, she looks one way to me or another.
