Love the warm color next to the blue. The navel is extra perfect!
ReplyDeleteLook at you! Your working big here. Did you get some new supplies?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie and Liz.
ReplyDeleteI finally got to a place where I felt comfortable dragging over some big paper. The paper has been packed away for awhile, and I took it still wrapped in a packing tube, so when I opened it up and found the large sheets of rice paper, it felt like a lovely present.
These were one minute gestures. I then took a few more minutes to paint the one.
ReplyDeleteA wonderfully creative way to top off a life drawing session. Superimposing one minute on top of another then anchoring them down with color is brilliant. So what is rice paper? Translucent?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI'm not entirely sure. What I have is an assortment of papers from Blick, sold collectively as rice paper. The sheets are different sizes and weights, some thicker than others, most quite light, some with decorative inclusions. Since I ordered it some time ago, I'm not even sure they still carry this precise package. Trying to find it on their website, but not having much success.
From the appearance of the sheets, I would guess some was handmade, some machine made.
I took another pass at the Blick website.
ReplyDeleteThe papers are classed as printmaking papers.
