This and your July 27 piece remind me of someone who you're probably familiar with but who I just stumbled on to - Lucian Freud. He's my new favorite and I'll be going to the library in a few hours to get something on him, in addition to what I ordered on Amazon.
K, I think I've only seen Freud's work in reproduction, but much of what I've seen feels moving and personal. This is a link to images of several of his paintings: http://www.literalmagazine.com/pdf/l12_lucian_freud.pdf
Thank you, William. I felt like I was painting a map.
Lately, I've been using life drawing as a starting place for works that combine reality, imagination and experience.

Really strong.
ReplyDeleteThis one isn't there yet for me. Are you pleased?
ReplyDeleteNice, strong!
ReplyDeleteThe seated man and woman below are wonderful too.
I'm curious about the photo. Is there a story there?
ReplyDeleteMuch emotion. I felt like this yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shanna and Katherine.
ReplyDeletePA, yup, I'm pleased. For me, it does what I intended.
Margaret, great question, but there really isn't one to tell.
AH, me, too.
