We coulda used you this spring when the city was yelling out in the early nite morning, "TIMBER", to the ficus & carrotwoods on Colorado in our Playhouse Dist.
Lately, I've been using life drawing as a starting place for works that combine reality, imagination and experience.

It’s amazing just how deep this painting is — how far one can travel into it. And the tree seems spirit-inhabited.
ReplyDeleteWow, I am on the same page as William. This is fathoms, Jean. And magical. I really love this one.

ReplyDeleteFicus is a deep tree.
William is absolutely right. This is very magical and alive.
ReplyDeleteThanks, all.
ReplyDeleteCP, save the ficus, save the world? Maybe.
This painting is now resting propped against the wall, off the easel, surrounded by the other tree paintings I've done recently.
And it looks like a cool place to sit in the noonday sun.
ReplyDeleteI like that I'm seeing shapes emerging from the center of your tree. A hexagonal pattern of a bee hive along with the Venus of Willendorf. I do.
ReplyDeleteVery sit-able, AH.
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing the hexagon, but not the venus. Will have to look again.
