AH, interesting. The red and blue for me in this is more about warm and cool. (It's over 100 and humid, here; not a good combination, so temperature pervades everything.)
(Over a hundred and humid? ow. I must say, I've come back to look at your drawing several times. I did see the hot/cold reference, but also something more sinister -- the first thing that hit me was a morgue or murder. On the other hand, when one is sweltering, the body does sort of melt.)
PA and AH, you are on to something: the 80s were scary.
And PA, the models wasn't harmed in the making of this drawing. The studio was actually a comfortable temperature. Going outside, sadly, a different story.
Lately, I've been using life drawing as a starting place for works that combine reality, imagination and experience.

the models look to be sweating it out too
ReplyDeletethe combination of aqua and pink/red always reminds me of the 80's
The 80's, yes, maybe that's what scares me.

Maybe it;s the summer, but I think they look like they are cooling off on a block of ice.
ReplyDeleteMargaret, I see that, too.
