Do you happen to know a Michigan sculptor named Pamela Stump Walsh? (She'd be around 70+ now--hope she's still with us). This reminds a LOT of some bronzes of hers. Very nice.
Lately, I've been using life drawing as a starting place for works that combine reality, imagination and experience.
See more of my work on Instagram at www.instagram.com/jeanspitzer/.
Like chiselled stone, the weight of the figure wedges into the earthy softness of the cushion.

ReplyDeletelove the blue undertones of her skin.

ReplyDeleteThanks, BANJO52 (does this mean there are at least 52 other BANJOs or is your birth year?)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know of Walsh until your comment. She sounds like she was a fabulous teacher and artist.
When I started the blog, I was flabbergasted at the number of blogs with "banjo" in the title, so I picked a number.
