Now, this may sounds weird -I'm a weird person, so prepare yourself:) The name of the iPad's app, Art Rage, serves this painting very good, I think.. -you can't say I didn't warn you. Great mix of colours! Especially on his body, I like it very much, Jean! Warm regards.
I've just caught up with you. You are doing great stuff with that iPad. I love the hotel group. They show your sense of humor and these two, the woman in half light, a very difficult lighting situation, and this hunk of a guy remind me of how much more life drawing I have to do. I love the flow of you lines and your use of color. Spectacular.
PA, I am not that good with numbers. Anywhere from a minute, for the simplest, to maybe half an hour.
Remember these are really small.
And some, I work on, then go back to, just like a work on canvas or paper. And it is that last bit, where maybe I erase most everything and start again, that you end up seeing.
Or paint over most everything.
It really is important not to be too in love with what you have done.
Lately, I've been using life drawing as a starting place for works that combine reality, imagination and experience.

ReplyDeleteIf you can find the time, try to fit in some life drawing. In addition to being addictive, it is fun.
