Drawn from life a couple of days ago, when this part of the world was having a heat wave.
I am just back from a few weeks in Europe.
Several train rides and some plane rides were involved. (Superb, if a bit bumpy at times for iPad use.)

Oh my goodness, you are the iPad guru. How did you use colored text to lay in the values? Wonderful drawing done on a wonderful trip. Trains, planes and automobiles are the best places to pass the time coloring providing you're not the pilot, the engineer or the driver.
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful. Your drawing, I mean. The trip, as well, of course. And I've travelled from Brussels to Paris by train. That's a very fond memory.
ReplyDeleteHer hair is quite brilliant. Don't know how you thought this up.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good time to have been in Europe. I like the drawing, especially for the composition, and connection with the words.
ReplyDeleteI really love this!
ReplyDeleteThe painting tells me that you are having a good time. I really like it, great colour's use!!
ReplyDeleteWarm regards.
Europe - lucky you! Have fun, bumps and all.
ReplyDeleteIntriguing drawing!
I like this recent iPad work just fine, but as an art outsider I wonder what the purpose is. Is it one more medium to experiment with? Are we assuming that electronic art will inevitably take over and leave the dinosaurs behind with their quaint paint? Will it be more lasting? or what? Can one be expected to be equally talented in electronic art AND paper/canvas art?
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow. I showed this to my daughter and she was speechless. Really original.
ReplyDeletewow, this is fabulous - I love how she is made up from layers and layers of coloured text. I hope you're going to give us a travelogue of your travels through Europe - I love to live vicariously through other folk visiting places I haven't been to!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI laid in the values the usual way, just using varying text lines as my pen.
Thanks, AH.
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful. By that train ride, the last of the trip and by far the least complicated, since no connecting trains were involved, I was feeling pretty proud of our having done all that traveling with no tour guide/trip planner other than ourselves.
BTW, we were in coach, which was just fine and even well air-conditioned on that extremely hot day.
Thanks, Anthony.
ReplyDeleteActually, though it was a good trip and in many ways special, it was my least favorite trip to Paris: too many tourists in Paris, so things like the Louvre way crowded, and too many regular places closed for vacations.
We ended up exercising ingenuity to find places and times that were not over-run with other visitors.
Of course, even a least favorite time to be in Paris is still wonderful--and it was.
Thanks, Ruth. Me, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Konstantina. I did.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katherine.
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing fun--and so great to be somewhere so beautiful.
Oh boy, Banjo, so many topics to think about.
ReplyDeleteFor me, at this point, it is just about experimentation and ease of use.
Where it is headed . . . ?
Thanks, Margaret. I am honored.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pointy. Me, too.
ReplyDeleteI learn a lot from reading.
I had a lot of fun and learned a lot on this trip. Hope to share some of it with you.
