The orange LEAPED out at me in my first half-second with it. I like that heat with the cool blue, and I see what Chieftess means about jazz. Very nice.
P.S. I've especially liked your last four. Is it coincidence that 3 are head shots? Then again, "Orange/Blue Reclining" might be my favorite of the four.
I love how your work is always evolving. Sorry to have been such a neglectful blog follower. Too much drama here of late, but things seem to be mellowing out a bit, so I'm back! Happy New Year!
Very agitated yet it works. Maybe because you have periods of rest? The way the edges go mute and become washes; and the purples. Without that in the work, I think it would have failed.
Lately, I've been using life drawing as a starting place for works that combine reality, imagination and experience.
