Some of today's drawings

These are all on 6"x12" paper, done from life. The first is charcoal pencil plus pastel, the second ink in a brush pen, the third ink plus highlighter.

  2. Yup. I didn't do it full justice; short pose.

  3. You are so good with color. Even in these drawings, the use of color just rises them to a very cool level.

  4. Jean,
I'm visiting your blog for the first time. Oh my, how talented you are. You probably don't know this but deep in my heart, i'm a frustrated painter. I'm hoping the time I spend in the French countryside this summer will let that painter come out again. Your work is amazing. I will visit often. Thank you for visiting my blogs.

  6. Thank you, Margaret, Virginia and CF. I am enjoying the essays and pictures on your blogs.

CF, your blog is one of several that simply won't let me leave a comment, no matter what I try (I've even tried "anonymous," to no avail), so I'll just say here that your blog is a pleasure to visit.

  9. How long were the poses?
The first is my favorite. The weight on the hip emphasized by the indent in her back. Really nice. Makes me miss figure drawing

  10. Thanks, Shawna, UR and PA.

The poses at this session varied from 5 minutes to about 20 minutes. I think these were in the 10 minute range because they're in the middle of the drawings I did, but these drawings are small (on 6"x12" pages), so it seems like more time, even when out of practice.
