  1. Jean, you are knocking me out with these latest pieces - and this one especially.

  2. Had you not said this was drawn on your iPad- I would have thought you painted it with acrylics or oils. Of course, now that I look at it, I can tell the difference- but not upon first glance. Cool!

I like how you captured so much in his face with so little.

  3. Seated man, thinking or bored? In pain or lost in memories? The colors-which are absolutely beautiful- suggest a little sadness, but then again boredom is closely related to sadness. Or indifference... You always make me wonder, Jean. Wonderful piece.
    Warm regards

  5. I was gonna say: you paint them, and I can photograph them.

But I also wanna say this "seated man" kinda looks like he could also pass for the infamous "naked man", imho! And I woodn't have many opportunities to shoot that kinda subject.

    Love the colors you chose.

  7. OH this is VERY striking! You really have mastered i-pad art in you own style. I love it!

  8. I came back to look at this one and was surprised to notice that it was done on an ipad.

I was going to say something about the visceral quality of your work and how glad I was to see it for real when I was in Austin...then I noticed. It was done on an ipad. I am mystified.

  11. Thanks, Shanna.

I am very fond of this, too. I like the weight of his body sinking into the seat.

Truly, he is probably planning his shopping list, for when he's done posing.

  15. Cafe, you just don't hang out at the right sort of dives, I guess.

Throw a pair of shorts on him, and you see him every day.

  16. Yes, Margaret, but then he's sitting naked holding still much longer than he wants, while many eyes focus on him.
