Wonderful portrait! Great characteristics. Where are you hanging out?
Very striking and dramatic, love it !
Thanks, Linda and Jane.Open studio at Palette and Chisel.
Pagnol; a character from Manon of the Spring, perhaps.
A change of pace for you? Or is it just the change to a male? I don't know Pagnol, but I was thinking Dostoevsky.
This is great.. So much depth and quiet drama.
Wonderful. I'm imaging a wise soul looking back at 2013...Happy New Year Jean.
Jean, your works are are amazing! A delight to appreciate! Thanks for everything... and I wish you the renovator 2014 full of art. Hugs!
Thanks and happy new year to all. This is a sketch of one of the Palette and Chisel artists. He calls himself "an old Jew from Minsk."You can take the man out of Minsk, but you can't take . . . .I had to look up Pagnol, but then some of his stuff was familiar.
There so much emotion and expressivity ...What a face!
Thanks, Li.
Now he makes me think of Leonardo da Vinci!!! I once drew/copied one of da Vinci's self portraits for practice when I was in college...
Thanks, Chieftess. This made me think of DaVinci too, but in slightly different way.He would practice types of features repeatedly and this kind of reminds me of some of that drawing. Older man, stronger nose.
nice the way you've been able to pull out his personality - i have a sense of him
Thanks, PA.I think you would enjoy him.
Interresting portrait! Like it alot!
Thanks, Catharina!
