At the Fresh Pot (iPad Sketch)

Drawn quickly from life, on iPad, in the early morning last week.

(It turned out he was looking down because a call had come in.  He went outside to take it.)

At the Fresh Pot on SW Washington, in downtown Portland.

I just got back from several weeks away from home.

The last five days I spent in Portland, Oregon.

At the Fresh Pot, I recommend the espresso, the cold brew coffee, the plain croissant, the salt bagel--everything I tried.

Also liked the friendly and helpful service and the art on the walls.

  1. I love this Jean! The strong lines convey movement. The chocolate skin is superb. WOW!

  3. I'm rather fond of the skull covering of the baseball cap as well as the lines you used to delineate the hand

  4. Thanks, PA. I was very taken with how dapper this man was, so early in the day.

  5. I am agree with PA, but I also like the thickness of the lines. Gives a sense of urgency.

  6. Thanks, Margaret.

What you are reacting positively to is my globbing on "oil paint" straight out of the virtual "tube" and only partially smoothing bits of it with a "palette knife". (Talking about this takes a lot of air quotes.)
