You are branching out. Body parts in the sheets. Very interesting--very surreal. I like both drawings because they do demand "getting one's head around this."
A fun perception thing for me here. The blue-purple vertical form looks almost as much like a human (or ape, or dog, or E.T.) as the more obvious prone figure. Remember Thoreau's line? "I'd rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself than be crowded on a velvet cushion." Me too.
Lately, I've been using life drawing as a starting place for works that combine reality, imagination and experience.

Drawn from life? Give me a minute to get my head around this...

ReplyDeleteWonderful... Charmed by the pumpkin. A nice touch.

ReplyDeleteA very unusual angle, but interesting and excellently done !
ReplyDeleteSUPERB!
ReplyDeleteYes it is! with Repunzel's hair
ReplyDeletemuy bueno! :)
ReplyDeleteI see Pumpkins. And more!
ReplyDeleteOkay, AH, maybe "drawn from life and imagination" is more accurate, though kind of nitpicking.
ReplyDeleteIt would be one honking big pumpkin or one very petite model.
Didn't know there was a pumpkin until after I drew it.
Thanks, all.
ReplyDeleteBanjo, I see that form too. Strongly and weirdly.
PA, that's what I was thinking of as it developed, but not enough to make it a clear picture. And now I like the creepy indeterminate aspect.
The original title was "cascade" but once I saw the pumpkin, the cascade became more of an umbilical cord between pumpkin and plant.
ReplyDeleteWell, I thought "the princess and the pea with cascading hair", but pumpkin makes for and even greater fairy tale :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, minn.
ReplyDeleteI really like this one.
ReplyDeleteI've haven't been here in a while but you've been productive.)
Thanks, K.
ReplyDeleteI have been producing a lot of drawing.
Here the volumes give the rhythm in the composition! Stylish design! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Li. Rhythm is exactly the word.
