I have a friend who made painting (pre digital) where instead of objects he would place words indicating those objects. In turn, the size of the words were directly related to the objects they represented. I always liked that idea
Sometimes, as with this piece, for me it's about using the process of creation as meditation. A way to be in the--scary--moment and be more okay with it.
Lately, I've been using life drawing as a starting place for works that combine reality, imagination and experience.

How cool is that - drawing with words!
ReplyDeleteThat's the one I was playing around with today! I do like the texture letters give this drawing also the touch of poetry.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katherine and Linda.
ReplyDeleteI am fond of this sketch; it kept me occupied while we flew through some turbulent air. Lots of turbulent air.
Yikes. Glad you made it back to land safely.
ReplyDeleteMe, too.
ReplyDeleteIt is particularly unnerving when the crew sounds nervous, as was the case this time.
Now this is very different and very creative! I can feel the bumpiness ...
ReplyDeleteThanks, minn.
ReplyDeleteHow do u like sketching on an Ipad? Easier?? Can it make a non-painter like myself a painter??
ReplyDeleteCP, I like it. But what I love it for is traveling ; much less to carry.
ReplyDeleteYou could try it and see. If you have a device that can use an app, adding the app is cheap.
Have fun!
