Discord on Green Street (work in progress)
This 20"x24" oil on canvas is one of the things I've been working on. This is painted from a photo I took recently on a warm night in Old Town Pasadena.

I'm guessing this is 1 blk west of Fair Oaks,?
ReplyDeleteLove the tree. And the title.
ReplyDeleteClose, CO: between Pasadena and DeLacey.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margaret. The fairy lights on these ficus trees on Green Street are amazing; the first time I saw them, I didn't believe my eyes.
nice sense of artificial light at night there :>)
ReplyDeleteI like the expanse before we get to the people.
ReplyDeleteSploosh Jean! (thats my new favorite word)
ReplyDeleteYour making me feel bad; your so prolific.... I need to turn off this dam computer and get some work done.
Thanks, vivien, AH and PA.
ReplyDeleteVivien, I'm currently obsessed with night, which where I live means artificial light.
AH, I'm gradually moving into painting fiction, without even realizing it until now. My source photo has people, but not with these postures, and certainly not having any kind of disagreement, and I kept and highlighted the space because it seemed right to respect the distance from the couple.
PA, I think I'm prolific right now because everything I'm painting, with one exception, is for me; so it's virtually all play and I'm almost the only one I have to please. Also having things set up and available at all times just makes it so much more likely to happen.
