Thanks, AH. Maybe the flatness and angularity of most of the shapes and the brushstroke outlines? I googled Cezanne and it seems closer to some of his later still life work.
Lately, I've been using life drawing as a starting place for works that combine reality, imagination and experience.

ReplyDeletei'd say it's also in the palate choices. I like this method of allowing us to see a painting unfold. I also like the "for now" part.
