Drawn yesterday morning, from life.
These are pastel and charcoal on 9"x12" sanded paper
My left leg has been hurting, and yesterday, it was hurting a lot. Today, it feels like it's healing. The top drawing encapsulates how I felt yesterday morning.
Also, I was heavily influenced by the art nouveau posters I've been looking at lately in connection with Loie Fuller.

Hi Jean, These are wonderful. I like the understatement of the surroundings. Lush!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Peggy. I was heavily influenced by the art nouveau posters I've been looking at lately in connection with Loie Fuller.
ReplyDeleteThe splashes of vermillion against the deep blue are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI hope your leg continues to get better.
Thanks, Katherine. I went to yoga this morning and my leg was okay with it, so I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you use the light
ReplyDeletein your works!
here is a spectacle!!
Oh, these are very cool. I love the legs in the second one. I hope they show that your feeling better. Yes?
ReplyDeletenice work. can you do one for my health? carpal tunnel syndrome; looks like it's here to stay.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Denise and Margaret.
ReplyDeleteMy leg is better today.
Okay, PA. That's seriously the pits.
I'll do my best with the sympathetic magic. The next hand, wrist and arm will be for you.
Hi Jean, these drawings are lovely. I especially like the seated woman holding her leg. My own emotions come out as I view your drawings.
ReplyDeleteThat middle one reminds me of my tile a bit...
ReplyDeleteI think you played a perfect game here, J. Sorry about your leg, I hope things improve very soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cynthia. I'm glad these resonate with you.
ReplyDeleteAH, it reminds me a bit of it, too.
Thanks, Paula. My leg is definitely getting better.
I hate to be a follower, but the middle one is my favorite today. I'm not sure I've made my peace with red as her color, but the design of her seems precisely right, including her facial expression.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Banjo.
ReplyDeleteI tend to think of the drawings that are predominantly red as ones that you'll like best, so it's interesting that the color is the thing you like least about this one.
Maybe it's more accurate to think of the red ones as the drawings that will capture your attention, good or bad, most.
