  1. Very nice. Her head reminds me of some woman in a Toulous Latrec painting. I had a little trouble getting here. Slowly I did. This caught my eye right off this morning.

  2. She looks a bit cranky to me!!! Too long in the pose perhaps??? Those darned artists!!!

  3. Thanks, Linda and Chieftess.

Chieftess, I think maybe she was cranky from having to hold still; she probably itched to be moving about.

Linda, she reminds me very much of Marlene Dietrich in her forties and fifties.

The model has glamour and sophistication, in person, and I tried to convey some of that, along with a world-weariness.

  5. There's another drawing of this same model that I'll be posting in a few days where I think the resemblance--at least in the drawing--is more obvious.

  6. I see cranky, but also pensive and maybe a bit sad.

  7. I was feeling world-weariness coming off this model.

  8. Now that I look at it, I'm seeing the crankiness and sadness and thoughtfulness.

  9. World weary is a great description...

(I finally remembered the actress she reminds me of here...remember the character Alice in the Brady Bunch??? Now that goes back a few years!!! I think it's the hairstyle!!!)

  10. The name of the actress escapes me. She played character roles. She was funadamentally attractive, though not glamorous as the Brady housekeeper. Always surprising how good those character actors look when not playing the side-kick, maid, mother, whatever.
