These are wonderful drawings Jean. This portrait says a lot about how most life drawing models actually feel about being life drawing models. They never look overjoyed.
Thanks, Linda. I have been using mostly the same medium same support for all of these. Sustained, by my flibbertygibbit, experimental inclinations.
Thanks, Katherine. I am very fond of gravity and draw vertically, to encourage those drips.
Thanks, Jane. I am very happy with the natural light in the studio. There is north light through high placed windows. Makes for beautiful light, something like plein aire because the light changes.
The purple isn't very bright in person or on my monitor, so chalk it up at least in part to different monitors. Some of course may be different perceptions of "bright."
Lately, I've been using life drawing as a starting place for works that combine reality, imagination and experience.

ReplyDeletePowerful color, and yet the expression on the woman's face is strongest - nice. Love the drips, too, they seem grounding.
ReplyDeleteLove all the shadow work and the bored expression :-)

Moody indeed. Like your green woman, I'd never have thought of a purple this bright, but I think it works.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Banjo.
